artist's biography

Eliza Drake Auth was born in New York but grew up on the Jersey Shore where she developed a love for the natural beauty of the beach and bay as well as the secluded landscapes of the Pine Barrens. After attending the Philadelphia College of Art and The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, she settled in Philadelphia with her husband, the cartoonist Tony Auth. They spend the summers in Ocean Gate. Eliza’s paintings are included in many public and private collections, and she also exhibits her work in galleries in New York and Philadelphia.
